I stayed at Colony Guest House for 3 nights during my visit to Porto. The neighborhood was calm and it only took me 15 minutes to walk to the touristic city center. The metro was also easily reachable within a 10-minute walk. There were plenty of restaurants and cafes around, making it convenient for meals. The breakfast at the hotel was fantastic, with delicious bread, Nespresso coffee, and nice cereal options. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable. I had a comfortable and pleasant experience at Colony Guest House.
I do recommend this hotel.

Had a really great stay during our visit, everything was nice. The location was favourable and convenient in a quiet area, next to the centre. There were plenty of restaurants to eat, like Pimenta Rosa that was only 10 minutes' walk away. The a single room we stayed in was gorgeous with comfortable bed😀

The digital game room was a hit with the kids, keeping them entertained for hours with its wide selection of fun and interactive games. It was the perfect place for them to unwind and have some family-friendly fun.
My children wanted a playground or outdoor play area for them to enjoy during our stay.

Friendly staff, great breakfast, and convenient location near the city center. The hotel facilities were also modest but comfortable, including AC, coffee, and useful amenities like an iron and hair dryer.
Hard to think of anything.

The breakfast at The Colony Guest House was delightful, with a variety of sliced meats and pastries. The staff went above and beyond by preparing personalized dishes. Despite some abandoned buildings in the surrounding area, I never felt unsafe during my stay. The newly renovated property was equipped with modern fixtures and appliances. The staff was attentive and accommodating, promptly addressing any issues that arose. The location was easily accessible once I familiarized myself with the city. I highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay in Porto.

Convenient location close to the city center and cozy atmosphere are the best aspects of this guest house. The price is also quite affordable compared to others in the area. The breakfast is a nice addition and includes a variety of options to satisfy different tastes. The bathroom in the room is modern and clean, and there is also air conditioning to regulate the temperature.
The noise level in the room is the worst aspect of this guest house. The soundproofing of the walls and windows is insufficient, and the street noise, as well as noise from other guests in the reception, is disturbing.

Title: Pleasant stay, but.
No windows in the room, but hey, who needs natural light? It's much more fun to stumble around in the dark.

If you are looking for an affordable and comfortable place to stay, this hotel might be the right choice for you. the location is close to everything but not too noisy as it's away from the touristic city center. the room was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent but nothing special, just the usual bread, butter, cornflakes, slices of cheese and ham, etc. the only downside is that the sound insulation could be better as outside noises easily came into the room.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
